![]() ![]() ![]() An ignorant Kumar Sanu fan Prem (Khurrana), who runs his father's audio video shop in Haridwar, finds himself struggling with the threads and aftermath of a forced wedding. Fortunately, the audiences are clever and kick it into the less-visited stream of mediocre attempts at inventive filmmaking. Take a story, edit the characters, and present it in an easy way through music and subtlety, and you hope to flood the audience and the entertainment industry with a new wave of fresh air. On the whole, 'Dum Laga Ke Haisha' wins you over with its charm & genuineness. And the on-screen chemistry between the two, is as real as it can get. Ayushmann is a terrific actor & he pitches in a sincere, earnest performance, that definitely ranks among the best we've seen off late. Performance-Wise: Ayushmann Khurana & Bhumi Pednekar are in top-form. Music by the legendary Anu Malik, is superb. Only glitch, the second-hour is slightly melodramatic & that segment of the story, is unimpressive. I connected with both of its protagonists & enjoyed the emotional wavelength they shared with each-other. The Screenplay beautifully narrates their journey, offering us moments, that are both, real & undeniably sweet. 'Dum Laga Ke Haisha' is about two opposites, in terms of mentality & physicality, who try to find meaning in their relationship after they get married. 'Dum Laga Ke Haisha' Synopsis: A middle class man marries an overweight women, due to parental pressures. Its wonderfully written & excellently performed. This is a Heartwarming, beautiful story about two opposites. Looking back, I was truly blessed to have this film as my debut because it is always tough to get a forward-thinking film that projects women in the correct light and DLKH was making bold statements about body positivity! Films like this don’t get made every day and I have to thank Maneesh Sharma, Sharat Katariya, Aditya Chopra and the entire team for trusting me with this beautiful role that has now become an example of how women should be portrayed in cinema.'Dum Laga Ke Haisha' is a film with a big heart.
